Our Mac laptops handle both windows and OSX, have been much easier for us to
manage than our older fleet of black laptops with a significantly reduced
TCO. To date there has been little software that isnt cross-platform. Don
Collins at Coburg SHS and Ringwood SC gave us some great advice about how to
configure and deploy these. It isnt about one vs the other as supporting
choice without artificial hurdles and enterprise wide barriers.
I am on a dual monitor workstation as I type this with an OSX session on the
left with this email and a Windows Server remote session on the right where
I can seamlessly cross over to update some Markbook details. I have learned
heaps that when you move to this kind of platform, it doesn't matter what
course the users choose to take. It matters more that we give them this
choice, correctly set this up and support their needs and training (teaching
and technical staff)
