Hi Rob,

Sorry for the frustration. Each list has individual attachment limits which
default to 1MB.

The elearning list was sitting on that default value, but I have just
increased it to 6 MB.

Feel free to send again.

With thanks

Kevork can you tell me the size limit on mail messages you can receive.
Your mail server keeps knocking back the articles I send as too large. Some
data on the topics you listed below can be found in John Hatties book Visual
Learning. Another site of interest is the US Education Departments What
Works Clearing House. http://ies.ed.gov/ncee/wwc/ This evaluates a wide
range of programs including ones which use computers in areas like reading
and maths. If you search using computers it brings a lot of their research
reports up.

Hi Rob,

Sounds great. Looking forward to receiving the material as soon as you are
able to forward it.
Interestingly there was some research probably in the last 18 months and
widely covered in some newspaper headlines claiming the opposite - that
technology/computers/mobile devices were actually lowering standards such as
literacy and numeracy. I could try to dredge that up but I think the point
is not the technology but HOW it is used and that means what the teacher is
doing with it. The teacher is both the fulcrum and the lever and that is the
key to the direction of the outcomes.

You need access to a university database. There is a growing literature on
eLearning and ICT and achievement. I am happy to send you a stack of recent
articles of list when I get back from my break.

Hi Folks,

Just doing a trawl at present on data and research to support benefits of:

1. Elearning in improving numeracy and literacy

2. Digital interactive devices to improve learning

3. Any other data that shows improvement in student learning outcomes
with an of laptops, ipads, podcasts, vodcasts, adaptive technologies
(learning and assessment activities react to student responses to adapt
content based on student needs , weaknesses and performance). Eg. Cisco
exams ask questions on the same theory area if a student appears to be weak
in that area.

If any of my esteemed colleagues have been searching and do have material to
share I would love to hear from you and share with you.
