If you are looking into Web2.0, make sure that your school's Internet
policy will work with it. Web2.0 is based around affordable internet
access with large or unlimited download plans - something Australia is
not known for.

I am not going to include any web2.0 tools as necessary in our plans if
it is going to put undue pressure on kids home net access. The idea of
24/7 access via web2.0 tools (the main advantage of it) is not very
attractive on a 400Mb/mth plan. Factoring in the $ of net access over
the whizz-bang is something to consider.

This is a really good discussion point....

I am trying to inspire my staff to explore new tools.... It's a hard
slog...

We have not used any of the formalised training, only because there was
not much interest.

We did, several years ago, have some self paced CD training in a range
of, I think it was Office 97 then, programs, but the take up was not
good. We run a range of PD session, and they range in attendance. I am
an ICT peer coach, but even t! hat has not inspired many to take that
innovative leap. They seem pret ty confident with the office
basics....it is the newer ideas and tools I am keen to get them using

I am working on developing a treasure hunt, to increase awareness of web
2.0 tools...(I saw something similar a couple of years ago while
involved with TPL)

Cheers

! We are looking at how be st to improve the ICT skills of our staff.

Have other schools used formal qualifications such as ICT drivers
license or Cert II IT as a PD program for staff.

Any other suggestions would be most welcome.
