Greetings.

The ICT Week & Careers Expo is a day of free events for you and your class.

We have a large number of registrations, so this will be an exciting day
based around the State Library on Wednesday 17 July 2013, from 10:00 am -
3:00 pm.
Some sessions in the ICT & Careers Expo are filling up fast, but there are
still sessions with room for you and your students. There is something for
everyone.

Once you register yourself and your students as attending the ICT & Careers
Expo, then you can register for the individual sessions.

Print out your ICT & Careers Expo tickets and place them in the barrel in
the State Library for the prize draw at the end of the day.

Make sure your students have their travel card so they can easily move
between venues if they need to. All of the venues are only a few minutes
apart along the Swanston St tramline.

There is plenty to choose from including the following:

1. Screen Worlds (ACMI @ Federation Square)
Free self guided tour - max 30 students per session
Register for the morning session at
http://www.acmi.net.au/screen_worlds.aspx or the afternoon session at

2. Shaun Tan: The Lost Thing (ACMI @ Federation Square)
The lost Thing is a short animated film about a boy who discovers a bizarre
lost creature at the beach and sets out to find a 'place' for the creature
to reside.
The exhibition traces the development of The Lost Thing from book to film,
including concept drawings, storyboards, creature design and interviews with
Shaun Tan and the creative team behind the enigmatic film.
Shaun Tan is a Melbourne-based freelance artist and illustrator whose award
winning children's books deal with social, political and historical subjects
through surreal, dream-like imagery.
The Lost Thing won an Oscar for the Best Animated Short Film in 2011.

The Living Library is an interactive, multimodal and engaging trail around
the Library, led by Library Education officer.

an historical and cultural entity - past, present and future.
Small groups of Years 7-10 students use iPad minis to take photos and record
observations describing their personal experience of the library today and
its story.
