[Design and Technology] jewellery

We’ve got a mixed program, and I think in many ways that is important for the realistic role a PD&T teacher needs to fill nowadays – however, we’re equipped to run a jewellery program if that were the preference, to which she could contribute.

Hi Everyone,
I have a student teacher from Latrobe finishing her first teaching rounds here this week.
She is a qualified jeweller and as we have a metal program where the students make jewellery, or small metal items so our school suited her well. She also took some wood and design engineering classes while she was here, but her speciality is jewellery making.
I’m just wondering if there are any other schools that offer metal jewellery that might be able to take on a student teacher sometime in the next couple of years (she is studying part-time).

With the teacher shortage I think it is important that we can train and retain good PD&T teachers, so I’d like to give her some names of possible schools she/Latrobe could approach.
