I like to trawl for some videos around the E-Nable or Open Hand projects – Open source 3D printed prosthetic limbs/hands for particularly kids who otherwise could not afford them.
Usually provides a window to discuss applications of CAD/CAM in 3D printing with real-world economic and social sustainability improvement, as well as touching on globally dispersed distribution networks, sustainable filaments, low-volume customisation, CAD local-manufacture global ideas, and so on. Really addresses new materials across the whole design and distribution chain.
😊 Tends to make kids feel like they can make a difference with just a little skill.

Hi there Product design teachers
Can any one suggest some good you tube videos that feature the new and emerging technologies covered in SAC 2. Something that goes for about 10mins. I’ve had a look, found a couple of bit dull videos but couldn’t find anything that I went Wow! About. Something that features Laser technology, robotics, CAD, CAM, CNC etc. we read the text book but it would be good for the students to see moving visuals.
Cheers
