Hi Robin,

I would definitely recommend the 1008.  WE have them service annually at $30 each and they usually last us at least 10 -12 years.  Worth the investment, the plastic ones just can't take the hard knocks.

Help needed - I need to buy 10 bernina sewing machines for yr 9 students 

Is the 215 suitable or should I stay with the 1008.  There is $1000 difference between the two ie. 1008 is $1800 and 215 is on sale for $999

Please help me as I am a product design - wood teacher but have to make this decision
