Hi, Steve Rogerson,
We did a trade training centre with vinyl tiles. Good in that things don't break as readily when dropped, and good to stand on. A downer is that it quickly gets slippery with saw dust. Also have tiles lift with movement in the building or water leakage.
Frank Burgers,
Bright P-12 College.

Subject: [Design and Technology] New Flooring in Design and Technology Workshops

We are about to relocate our Design and Technology area into new buildings in the next 24 months and would like to hear about teachers experiences with different types of floors. We have been using a roughened concrete floor for the last 15 years which is not slippery but can be a bit wearing standing on it all day.
Are there any other surfaces for floors that work brilliantly or materials we should stay away from?
