[Design and Technology] Practice exams

Hi All, 

 

There isn't a lot out there as reliable practice exams.  The exam questions
can only come from the study design and then can only be from unit 3 & 4 and
the introductory pages like the product design process and the product
design factors. 

 

I will write my own using questions that are relevant from old exam papers
and making up new ones using the study design because I bought the QATs one
to find that some of the questions weren't appropriate (wouldn't be asked
because the information isn't in the study design) and there were no photos
of products to compare as per the VCAA exam.  It was a very disappointing
attempt at an exam. 

 

I know that isn't any help but that is my experience to date.  

 

Could I suggest that the best way to get to know an exam is to mark them for
VCAA - it can be stressful but great PD.  Put your names down next year and
you will feel more confident about writing your own practice exams.

Hi Connie,

 

We bought one from QAT's that isn't too bad. Slightly woodwork biased but
not too much.  I have used the Insight ones before, but find their language
and structure of questions varies from the VCAA exams.
