MSD Incubator has opened a competition on design ideas for relocatable
classrooms of the future.

The Competition seeks to elicit innovation, creativity and blue-sky
thinking; to encourage entrants to consider how things can be "otherwise".

The MSD Incubator is an initiative to inspire architects, landscape
architects, urban designers and planners, construction managers, property
professionals and students of the built environment disciplines to dream,
collaborate and create.

The team says:

Your ideas could potentially:
> transform relocatable classroom environments
> influence government policy on the design and delivery of future
relocatable infrastructure
> be developed as a prototype

The total prize pool is AUD $60,000.

Who can enter?

This single stage Design Ideas Competition is open - but not limited to -
professionals and tertiary students including Architects, Landscape
Architects, Urban Designers, Planners and Industrial Designers. We encourage
entrants to work in multidisciplinary teams. There will be an additional
competition for students Years 10,11 and 12 - watch this space for futher
details on 20 July.

The Competition has the endorsement of the Australian Institute of
Architects.

Images below: A good example of the 'Classroom of the Future', was designed
for school children near London. This mobile school will move from one
school to another in order to explore music and film making. At a time this
movable truck can hold 15 students. This classroom can be opened from all
sides and then packed into a box while moving.
