Hi all,
I am taking leave for at least a year starting either at the end of 2011 or end T1 2012.
The school will be looking for a full-time replacement to cover my teaching allotment and perhaps my management roles. Due to the dearth of D&T teachers out there we are open to anyone from graduate to experienced teacher. I'm also working with my finish date to best suit the successful applicant. Teaching load would be mainly wood from Y7-11, but this could be tweaked for the right person. This allotment has the potential to become an ongoing position.
Patterson River SC is a large (1200 students) government secondary college with excellent D&T facilities and an ex-tech principal who values and supports the department. We teach wood, metal, plastics, jewellery, auto, glass and electronics from Y7-12 over 5 classrooms. We have an excellent machine shop and ICT facilities including a lasercutter and laptops. All curriculum is online and available to all teachers within the college.
If this job interests you and you would like to speak to me further about it please email or call me on the number below. It will likely be advertised online later in the year but I want to get the word out there as early as possible to ensure a seamless handover!
Cheers,
Paul Dawes
