Thankyou Suzanne
It's great to have a little package to peruse! The testing of the jeans is useful and amusing! I think the boys will like it.

Subject: [Design and Technology] New Technology and Fabrics
This may have already been discussed on the list, as it's not really all that new...
But the weekend's coverage of the Moto GP brought it to the fore in my mind anyway... and we had been talking about it last week in class - the use of Kevlar in clothing.
The ranges of jeans by Sartso and Draggin are impressive, the need for design and the use of technological advancements in materials... teamed up with the very graphic TAC "degloving" "what's between you and the road" series of bike ads

There are actually heaps of cool vids on YouTube related (and some not so related) to the development of Kevlar in jeans. Many work shirts in industry (high vis/fluoro ones) have Kevlar in the sleeves to protect from abrasions and slicing. Interesting developments with the use in fashion streetwear in London
Also interesting was the development of materials and design of boardshorts sturdy enough to wear on the worksite, as well as be casual and light. I hope it's ok, I attached a copy of the article :)
Cheers
Suz
