Dear Melissa,
That was very generous of you to share these things, I thought that the
power point was fantastic and very clear. I also thought the revision
questions were great.
I will also share some resources but I found the new workbook - Design
and Technology Textiles workbook by Jill Livett and Jacinta O'Leary
excellent for SAC 2 as well.
Thanks
Kathy Baker

Hi all,
Have decided to initiate a design share-a-thon amongst VCE technology
teachers.
I am all for what's mine is yours in teaching. Let's face it none of us
has time to reinvent the wheel. Plus it is interesting and valuable to
see other take on topics.
I have attached a Power point I developed for the product development
process, an interesting LCA comparison of polystyrene & paper cups & a
big wad of revision questions I gave my student last week.
Would love to see what other teachers have developed.
Now off to prepare those firecrackers to get my Yr 12's working a little
(lot) harder.
Cheers

To teachers of VCE Design and Technology Unit 3
I noticed an article in the Financial Review on Saturday, the Weekend
Edition May 16-17 2009 that would be an excellent case study for Outcome
2. It's on page 16 and titled 'Inventors put wheels in motion for
expansion' by Stephen Crafti. The article has a very clear explanation
of the company's product development process among other aspects related
to this outcome.
Unfortunately I couldn't attach it as you need to subscribe to get the
electronic version (which would be worth it).
regards
Jacinta O'Leary
