This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead one of Australia's premier craft organisations, Craft Victoria. The role provides the opportunity for a leading edge thinker in craft and/or design to put their stamp on an already successful organisation and lift it to even greater heights. You will find yourself playing a key role in shaping craft debates in Victoria, Australia and, potentially, overseas.  

 

The role requires demonstrable leadership in both the theory and practice of craft as well as sound managerial skills. You are likely to have published in your area of expertise. 

 

Ably supported by a small team, including a General Manager, you will be responsible for conceptualising and overseeing the delivery of an annual program of exhibitions, seminars and talks. You will also take the lead in building and maintaining strong relationships with funding bodies as well as growing the organisation's finances through membership, retail and donations. You will be a powerful advocate for the craft sector. 

 

As Chief Executive you will report directly to the Board and will be responsible for ensuring Board members are fully briefed and the organisation is able to fulfil its statutory and fiduciary responsibilities.

 

The role is based in Melbourne and offers a competitive salary package (circa 70k plus superannuation) for the successful applicant. A part-time appointment may be possible.
