Dear colleagues
This report (or bits of it) makes interesting reading for teachers of
studies that have higher enrolments of male students such as Design and
Technology and Systems and Technology/Systems Engineering. In
particular, the importance of undertaking hands-on projects (pages 77,
91 and 94), solving problems, working collaboratively and making and
extending knowledge networks that link school to the wider world confirm
the important role of our studies in the curriculum to engage and
motivate boys.

I hope you will a few minutes to browse through this important report
and at least read the conclusions (pages 94 and 95).
Regards, Lorraine.
