The shortage was discussed in a recent DLTV newsletter with some horrid stats and an alarming trend. Increasingly, many of those teaching computing or digitech, are now teaching “out of field”. Some are doing a remarkable job despite this.
Victoria is not alone and it is happening in all states. We are seeing the same thing happening with subjects like Physics. Reasons are complex and the problem is not going away.
