[Informatics] COVID-19 vaccination certificates at risk of forgery after discovery of another security flaw

Interesting reading a few days ago that the vaccination certificates on the federal app are so easily forged. I wonder how that’s going to track in the long run in NSW as they start now to rely on these documents for entry into venues etc.

Surprising that the app and certificate doesn’t have an authentication check with say, a QR code that the retailer or authority could use on a parallel device to confirm the correct sign-in for a user and potentially report fraud or a belligerent user.
Considering that our VCE courses now edge towards networking and security, there’s an interesting reflection and debate here about data workflow and authentication.
