I am helping write a journal article for our subject association about the origin of the S curve, pandemic tracking and even coding your own epidemic simulator. Understanding a public emergency like hashtag#covid19australia <https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6665971724305207297&keywords=%23covid19australia&originTrackingId=c7EgdFlgau8Vh4UMQLfLwA%3D%3D> demands access to good science and data to plan interventions and start on the roadway to treatment and healing. hashtag#ozscied <https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6665971724305207297&keywords=%23ozscied&originTrackingId=c7EgdFlgau8Vh4UMQLfLwA%3D%3D>
I am also reflecting upon the work by Florence Nightingale who created a powerful hashtag#datavisualisation <https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6665971724305207297&keywords=%23datavisualisation&originTrackingId=c7EgdFlgau8Vh4UMQLfLwA%3D%3D> at a military hospital to track sickness and mortality, starting a medical revolution. Her birthday is celebrated around the world on the anniversary of her birth, 12 May as International Nurses Day.
Spare a thought tonight for the many teams of nurses around the world, working through the day and night.
