[Informatics] evaluation criteria

Hi Liz,

1. I believe you need two sets - Evaluating best distinctive design is different to evaluation criteria. Though related - best design should better help meet evaluation criteria.
2. Personally happy with about 5 for design - I think mine are looking at the appearance side of things more than functionality, probably need at least a couple of evaluation criteria covering effectiveness and a couple covering efficiency.
3. No specific examples, but I feel the aim is to clearly inform others online, the support or not of the hypothesis. Specific times for loading would be in a testing table done straight after completion, not an evaluation criteria. You evaluate the solution after it has been in place for a while. I think the text is pretty good here. Testing - does it work? Evaluation - does it meet needs of the user (or in this case the author/student)

My 5 cents worth.

Hi all

The first row of criteria 5, is looking at evaluation criteria for 1. Assessing the design and 2. For evaluating the effectiveness of the MMOS.
So I have some queries.

  1. Are teachers asking for 2 sets of criteria? (it seems to me one set would be able to cover both aspects) it is just one of 5 rows in this criteria.
  2. How many criteria are you looking for?
  3. Does anyone have any examples? Eg if students wrote something like ‘the solution offers at least one feature to support users with particular needs’ is that too broad? Would a criteria such as ‘user with visual impairments can increase the font size’ be better? What about ‘homepage loads within 3 minutes’ or ‘all images are less than 100kb’?
Thanks all, I’d love to get some feedback.
