[Informatics] Legislation clarification

Thanks for that. I couldn’t see anything in the study design that prompted me to cover them but then received the DLTV practice exam and there were a few questions about flow charts.

The short answer is 'No'.
The long answer is "No, they can't."

They are mentioned in the glossary, but not in any Info KK.

Dear colleagues

Examination questions can only refer to specific Acts that are listed in the key knowledge for a unit. The key knowledge for a unit defines the scope of a term if included in the Glossary – the Glossary is not unit specific. While the Glossary does list more Acts, there are differences between Informatics and Software Development.

I’ve been wondering about this too.  Thanks Mark and Michael for your question and answer.

So, the Exam Specifications  document for 2016 – 2019 states “The study design includes the sections ‘Glossary’ (pages 11–13) …” and then states “All of the key knowledge and skills that underpin the outcomes in Units 3 and 4 are examinable.”

As the Spam Act is mentioned in the Glossary but is not referenced in the KK or KS for Unit 3 and 4 Informatics, then do we presume it is not examinable?   I seem to recall an exam question a few years ago that was referenced in the Glossary and taught in Unit 1 or 2 appearing in the Unit 3 / 4 exam.

Any advice appreciated before we start revision and review the Glossary.

Hi Michael. As I read it...

U3O2 KK7 implies - but does not name (which is odd) - laws about
- privacy [we must assume Privacy Act, Health Records Act, and the PDP]
- intellectual property [Copyright]
- human rights requirements [the Charter]

U4O2 KK3 specifically names the...
- Privacy Act,
- Privacy and Data Protection Act
- Health Records Act.

The Spam Act is not named (or implied) in Info KK at all.
(But it does appear in SD.)
