Hi everyone,
We did the SAT Hypothesis formulation in a class this week, and it is looking like it is going to be a real challenge.
Students have been set as part of holiday homework to come up with two hypothesises (Plan A and Plan B).
Each Hypothesis needs a list of constraints as well as scoping down to a workable level.
So far the students have only come up with three hypothesises that could be workable into something good:
1) Successful people in Motocross* are mainly those who got sponsorships because they have enough money to travel to a wider variety pof events here and overseas and get more experience to give them great skills.
(* Can apply to other individual sports like Surfing, Golf, Tennis, Skating)
2) A style of music will spread to other countries but will have the biggest audience in its country of origin, because there were lots of artists as part of a big movement in that country to get the style established.
(Then Scope this down to be Hip-Hop in USA, or Rap in USA, or Reggae in Jamaica, etc)
3) The most financially successful Australian Metal Bands are the ones that have played to huge crowds in the USA, because the number of 14 to 25 year olds in the USA is many times greater than the number in that Age Group in Australia.
(Or maybe it is because of YouTube views, specialty radio stations, record companies ????)
And sadly that is all we have thus far, although some students are interested in looking at AFL or Basketball in some way.
If others could share around any good Hypothesises they have seen that students seem excited about, and are workable, from their classes, that would be great.
