Does the live vs offline protoype MMOS conversation actually matter though?
Provided the teacher can access the MMOS (whether it be live on the net or local where the teacher is provided all the necessary files) to assess it, I don’t see why it would matter…

Hi all
Lucus said
"Weebly works so long as students fully mock up a design and give reasons for their choice of different elements."
I'll be insisting that student create mocks and designs first (then choose preferred design etc). If a Weebly or a Wix template conforms to their design or they can tweak it fine. Otherwise we'll be putting the cart before the horse or development before design.
Lucus's ideas about justifying design thinking, such as fonts, are great.
"so therefore they need to provide a list of design thinking behind why a specific theme was chosen, and I’m probably going to ask them to name for me the fonts that are used as part of the theme."
I've got a prejudice towards HTML5 scroll down pages like https://www.playosmo.com/en/
I was thinking about showing students a few HTML5 examples and some other possibilities. Students then design basic layouts. I'd then provide some raw HTML5 templates, students then tweak CSS and page structure (HTML) to achieve desired outcome.
Lucas also said
"but is there any issues with the site being live, or are we expecting MMOS which are able to be viewed on a device but aren’t actually on the internet?"
I'd like some clarification of live and published sites.
Cheers

Hi all,
I remember reading something about needing to be able to change fonts (maybe linked to point 1 below). This ruled out the otherwise acceptable Adobe Slate but for mine Weebly works so long as students fully mock up a design and give reasons for their choice of different elements.
I can see quite a few of them just choosing a theme - so therefore they need to provide a list of design thinking behind why a specific theme was chosen, and I’m probably going to ask them to name for me the fonts that are used as part of the theme.
The other question worth asking - I don’t know enough about Wix - but is there any issues with the site being live, or are we expecting MMOS which are able to be viewed on a device but aren’t actually on the internet?

Absolutely
Unit 4: Multimodal authoring software
Authoring software does not require the need to write programming code. Students are expected to apply functions that provide the ability to:
* import/enter, edit and format content yes
* structure screen layout yes
* create links yes
* provide navigation yes
* create buttons yes
* create tags (alt tags) yes
* incorporate images (still and moving), text and sound. yes

Morning All,
It may have been discussed, but is WIX a valid platform for the students to use for the creation of the MMOS?
