[Informatics] post - DLTV event Feb 26

Hi everyone

Looks like DLTV will be holding a training session for VCE Computing on Feb 26 - the Friday of the week of the SAT training day.

Not sure if everyone will be able to make it in terms of time allowance away from their classes and/or cost, but it will enable people possibly to unpack resources (would be a really good thing if the resource kit is ready for this event) and share with each other.

Hi Kerrie

There's the SAT Training Day being provided by VCAA in mid February and two timelines were shared in the Advice for Teachers, which can be found here: http://www.digipubs.vic.edu.au/vcaa/vce-computing/vce-computing-introduction

I'm sure DLTV will be running some PD throughout the year as well.

Back in Term 4 last year Nelson did send out hardcopy versions of Chapter 1 of Informatics, perhaps they are still taking requests? It was simply a matter of emailing another person at Cengage (kathryn.coulehan at cengage.com<mailto:kathryn.coulehan at cengage.com>) with the quantity I needed, but I'm not sure they will now with books expected in February.

Great news to see that publication dates have come forward!

VCE Computing and Informatics teachers
We have been able to improve on the publication dates for the two Nelson VCE titles for the Computing Study Design. The publication dates are now:

*         VCE Computing Units 1 & 2 - 11th  February*

*         VCE Informatics Units 3 & 4 - 16th February*
*Note: These are the dates that the books arrive at the Cengage warehouse. It will take a few days to get the books from the warehouse to the booksellers.
