I'm busting my chops trying to get a handle on the course and content (not being able to get access to the textbook hasn't helped). Using the first chapter of the textbook available online I have started with  the basic stuff about online forms/ux/ufd etc. I'm also attending the SAT PD on the 22nd (I have also done an MS Access course over the holidays) But I see people are starting the course with the SAT or U302 -this messes with my linear brain (and experience as a Media SAT teacher) where you the AOS in order. I don't want to disadvantage my students with my incompetence. Is or will there be a VCAA recommended timeline (including the order in which you complete the assessments) for all sacs and the sat?

Hi all,

I’m splitting my U3O1 SAC up, due to interruptions that we will have at our school during either the teaching or assessment phase.

There’s two distinct (or can be distinct) requirements – one worth 90% and one worth 10%.

So I’m teaching RDBMS and assessing it, then teaching UFDs and assessing it a week later.

My U3O1 will be assessed part way through Term 2 as I’m teaching U3O2 content now (e.g. what’s a hypothesis, what’s a project plan, how to acquire data) to try to get the students working on their SAT, and I didn’t want to try to fit all of the work into Term 1, though I’m sure it’s possible.

Just to add to that question, the suggested timeline for U3O1 only suggests one week to do the SAC.  In the previous course, the similar U3O2 SAC would take two weeks.  Does anyone have any advice on this?

Ive decided to split up the theory for both Outcomes so the kids can work on their SATS early on, but wanted to know how long you guys will spend on Outcome 01 SAC ( I was thinking 2 weeks but it may be 3???).

Also is anyone teaching the theory of both Outcomes together? Or am I being overly optimistic!
