We are also quite small - my local payroll is often only 4-5 teachers
and maybe an integration aide replacement.  At the moment I use
Quickline.  I also use this to pay staff reimbursements.  I only pay
staff on the same day as local payroll - that way it is one transaction
instead of many.  It costs us about $11 per month for the Quickline
service.  However, the benefit of not having unpresented or lost cheques
far outweighs the monthly fees in my opinion.  Staff really appreciate
it too because they have trouble getting to the bank.  You can use
Quickline to pay creditors - but I haven't chosen to do so - you can
with Commbiz too.
 
I am in the process of wading through all the information about Commbiz.
I haven't figured out what the fees for this will be.

wondering if it is worth going on to direct deposits for our pays.
Would the costs outway the convenience?  Can anyone give me a rough idea
of the costs that their school incurs for this service and how many they
have on the local payroll.  Can you also utilize this system to direct
pay accounts?
