It is department policy that all staff in schools be employed either as
teachers (includes principals, assistant principals and instructors) or
School Services Officers (SSOs).  This in effect means that the roles
and functions performed by SSOs cover everything from administration to
laboratory and library support, to grounds maintenance to before and
after school care and canteen.
