Hi all

One of my teachers has passed me a newsletter from the AEU (called
Primary Sector Newsletter). There is an article in there regarding
software called Ultranet. To quote some of the article:

"For the past 12 months, a dozen Victorian schools have been piloting a
new software program called the Ultranet, as part of the Department of
Education's Flagship Stragey 1, Student Learning.

The program aims to provide an ICT framework that enables schools to
manage all elements of their day-to-day work through a single computer
package. It includes functions for school and student administration,
curriculum planning and delivery, monitoring student progress and
reporting to parents.

The department aims to begin rolling out the package across the state
from 2008.

It is 'not about online learning or content management', the department
says, but a replacement for the range of existing database systems such
as Cases 21, student roll programs such as ID Attend, RAM and Roll Call,
and those school-based intranets currently used to share curriculum and
resources between teachers and students."

The article is quite a bit longer - I just picked out a few paragraphs
that appear relevant to us.

Has anyone heard of this? Is Cases 21 going to be superseded
already????

I think I'm getting nervous .... !!!
