[Busmanagers] Office Health and ergonomics

I actually was off work last year on Workcover (had shoulder surgery)
the problem being caused from 5 years of continuously sitting at a
computer desk (reaching above for heavy files, stretching to reach
phone, continuous turning, typing, etc with little time for breaks due
to the workload). I have now learnt my lesson.

Therefore I had an OT (from a company called RECOVRE) come to my
workplace and assess my set up. There were many things she pointed out
that were bad ergonomically and suggested how to make adjustments which
I have implemented. It was a worthwhile visit (a real eye opener) and I
recommend it for every office.

P.S. Check out the Workcover kit on HR website. It lists several OT
firms and your regional contact who may be able to help you organise
such an audit at your individual workplace.

Subject: [Busmanagers] Office Health and ergonomics

Hi all,

I am wondering if any school have had their work stations checked for
ergonomics. We have a staff member who is having health problems and we
have been advised to have her work station set up ergonomically - just
wondering how and who?

Have checked the Health and Wellbeing DET site - heaps of links - but
would appreciate any feedback from schools.

Thanks
