If you have a Franking Machine please read the following:

 

At Oberon we have a Pitney Bowes Franking machine which is about 5 years
old. When it arrived it had a sticker on it to phone Advance Postage
System for service and ribbons.... Which we have done for 5 years.

 

Recently Advanced Postage system kept sending us incorrect ribbons and
told us that they could no longer get the right ribbons and that we
needed to purchase a new machine.  They then offered us a $3000.00
machine for $500.00.  I was suspicious of this and looked at franking
machine on the Aust. Post website and found that Pitney Bowes is a
recommended supplier.  I phoned them and to my surprise Yes I can still
get ribbons for my machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

We have sent back a large box of unsuitable ribbons to Advanced Postage
for a refund (I hope) and I have not told them about contact with Pitney
Bowes.

Pitney Bowes also told me that somehow the Advanced Postage sticker got
on the machine before we got it and that they did not deal with them at
all.

 

Today I had a phone call from Shirley at Lara SC asking about our
franking machine. Apparently the company she is dealing with, FP Mail,
sent her a bill for $500 being for service agreement and extended
warranty.  Guess what!!! FP Mail is listed in the Yellow Pages as
Advance Office System and Advance Postage Systems.

 

Take care when dealing with these companies!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Please pass on to anyone you know who has a franking machine.  Our
machine is still working perfectly with the new correct ribbons!!!!!!
