Public holidays impact on part time employees in exactly the same way as
they impact on you and me. So if the public holiday falls on a day that
a part time staff member usually works, then they get the public holiday
and cannot be required to work another day. If the public holiday falls
on a day that they would not normally work, then bad luck so to speak as
they would not get another day off in lieu.

Subject: [Busmanagers] Public Holidays
I am asking this question on behalf of a friend of mine and wondering if
someone could help, I have looked through the SSO agreement and can't
find anything.
If a part time SSO (say 0.6EFT) works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and
there happens to be a Public holiday on the Wednesday, does the SSO work
or owe the school an extra day?? ie the next week should they work
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday AND Thursday to cover the day off from the
previous week??
Also when there is a public holiday, that is to be considered the "day
off" - so if it falls on a Monday and they would normally have Wednesday
off, they are to work on Wednesday, because they had the Monday off.
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say
I don't think they should but I may be wrong, is there any clarification
in any policy someone can lead me to??
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
