[Busmanagers] Salary Packaging (Salary Sacrifice)

The maximum percentage that can be salary sacrificed was recently
changed to 100% (there is no maximum for super so all salary could be
sacrificed to super).  HRWeb has been updated to reflect this but we are
waiting (and pressuring) for a circular to be sent ASAP.

Hi Anita,

 

You can salary sacrifice more than 50% but you have to get permission
from Brian Wheeler in the Payroll Office - telephone 9637 2000 or e-mail
him.  I have actually just done this and it was no problem.

Hi Everyone,

 

Today I received a staff member inquiry about the maximum amount
(percentage) of salary that could be packaged/sacrificed into
superannuation.

She claims that Smart Salary informed her that this could be up to 100%
of her salary, at which I was surprised as the maximum as I understood
it was 50%.

 

I've gone to HR Web (Salary Packaging) and there is no indication of
what the maximum percentage of the salary can be sacrificed into
superannuation.

 

Has anyone else had a similar query and if so what advice was given?
