[Busmanagers] SSO TRAINING

Hi Helen

I would like to see us given the opportunity to more of the leadership
and management PD which is available to Principals etc. I am not sure of
paid study leave entitlements for SSO staff but that would be good to
allow people to undertake Diploma and Degree courses. I am currently
undertaking Cert 4 in Workplace Training & Assessment which will be very
valuable to me and create savings for the school as I will be able to
work with any trainees the school employs and not need to use someone
else to administer. Worth considering. DET funded mentor programs to
help with succession planning and career paths.

ideas for improvement of the SSO training program.

If you have strong ideas of what ought to be offered to SSO staff by DET
could you please let me know asap and I shall ensure your ideas are
tabled at this meeting.
