At present I have a staff member who is pregnant with twins; the due
date being in Sept. She has asked me if she can take her 7wks LSL before
she goes on maternity leave or if she can take it as a lump sum when she
goes on mat leave.
I'm under the impression she can take LSL before she goes on mat leave,
don't know about taking it in a lump sum, as I thought you'd have to
resign to be paid out (as it's only 7 wks , I don't think she's talking
about commuting it). Also, whilst the due date is in Sept, as it is
twins she has been told she'll probably give birth in August (possibly
earlier then 6 wks before the due date). If she is on LSL at the time,
is 12 wks maternity leave adjusted to begin from birth date and then
what happens with remaining LSL? I have spoken to a couple of people
with varying answers.
Hoping someone out there can help me.
