Thanks for your help everyone.
The weird thing is when I attached the transferred person to the job req in HRMS and went to applicant checklist , there was nothing there! I have initiated everything, but surely the police check, medical etc info should have been substantiated when the person was attached to their last school?

Yes, Trudie you are correct but if they have one that is current (which the staff member feels they have) this should suffice. Whenever I have rung Conducts and Ethics the operative word has always been ‘current’. Maybe it’s a grey area, all transfers / current!!! If in doubt always ask for a new one I guess.

A medical check is not required. Medical checks are only required on first employment in an on-going position.

Good morning everyone,
I have an ongoing teacher transferring into our school into an ongoing position. Do they need to have a new police check done and also do they need to have a pre –employment medical assessment completed by a doctor?
The particular staff member doesn’t think they need to have a new police check as theirs is less than 3 years old. I have asked for a copy and they are unwilling to provide it saying they will give me a stat dec. I’m pretty sure stat decs are only to be used until a police check is received. They don’t want to have a medical assessment either.
