Hi Roz

Balwyn High School has a big Library Trust fund set up.

We put on the maximum amount asked for on as a charge.

The amount contributed is put through as a receipt.  We attach the
receipt to a nicely printed card that says

Thank you for your generous donation to the Balwyn High School Trust
Fund

Please ensure you file the attached receipt as it is proof that your
right to claim the donated amount under the provisions of the Income Tax
Assessment Act, 1936 (ITA)

 

Signed (Principal) etc.

 

Just as a reminder.  Make sure that all your tax deductible monies are
transferred into your designated Library Trust Account.  You are
probably doing this - but the ATO are really strict about that.
Separate cheques for the account and all monies must be deposited into
the designated account.

Good Afternoon everyone,

 

I am after some feedback on the best way to process Library Trust Fund
donations.  The amounts we have received are for varying amounts, and as
they are donations not all parents contribute.

 

I am also wondering if other schools send out a receipt other than the
computer generated receipt, ie a written receipt with the ATO registered
number of the fund printed on the receipt.
