Bev,

As far as I know - groups of 6 or 7. Meeting in 5th week of every term -
generally off site. Initial groups are determined after everyone fills
in a form stating 2 people they would like to be with and 1 they would
not. Apparently you set goals for yourself, and, at the meetings let the
others know how you are going etc. I think the process sounds very
positive, with us all sharing our successes and frustrations and
developing an understanding for the work of others. The process is
reasonably mandated ie set questions etc to guide and manage the
process. There are external people involved. (Found this all out
yesterday).

Hi Helen,

This type of review was also mentioned at the last SSO Meeting I had
with staff but I am just not too sure how to go about it.  I don't think
they wanted to include teachers but to put the SSO together in groups,
e.g. Library Tech., Foods and IT in one group, Intergration Aides in
another and Office SSO's in another.  I would be interested to hear how
this progresses at Leongatha.

Chris,

This school is looking at a new staff review process for 2007 which
involves a team (mixed SSO and Teachers) approach. I understand they
plan to use the front and back of the Department paperwork but develop
different paperwork in the middle - which will address the same content
as the Departmental documents but in a different way. Bit concerned this
is like splitting hairs. Is this an issue?

Possibly they are referring to Range Reviews i.e. to move from SSO Range
1 to Range 2.  The process and requirements are different and not
related specifically to performance.

Hi Chris,

This is the one we have always used but the SSO's are asking if there is
some other form of review as all they seem to do is reiterate the
previous year's comments.  I did tell them that this was the required
document but they seemed to think that in the last SSO Agreement it
mentioned that other types of reviews could be carried out but I can't
find it.  I will go back to them and ask them to be more specific.

Hi All,

At a recent SSO Meeting it was asked whether there is any other type of
review that SSO's could do rather than the standard DE&T one they have
been doing for the past umpteen years where they just seem to copy the
same information from one year to the next.

Does any other school use a different type of review for their SSO's?
