We give parents the option of using left over EMA to cover camps,
swimming, etc.  It's a little fiddly but it works well for us.

We are also looking at our fees for 2006.  We had the same problems as
you this year with EMA being more than our fees.  The trouble with
putting the fees up to $200 is that it is such a big jump for those who
don't receive EMA. 

 

We have always split our fees between compulsory (books and requisites)
and voluntary.  I would like to just make it a flat fee next year with
no obvious definition.   Most parents choose not to pay the voluntary
portion anyway.

 

What do other schools do?

Attached is a copy of the form we used last year.  

 

With the EMA amount being $200 per child per year, it was more than our
fees and has been a lot of work with parents accounts.  We are looking
at our fees for 2006 and hopefully will rectify this!
