It depends on the costs you will have relating to the activity.  You need to estimate the amount of GST you are likely to be able to claim back on your purchases vs having to give 1/11th from your income.  If it looks like you'll be giving back more than you can claim, &/or you are going to have trouble getting tax invoices from your purchases (input tax credits), then you're better off electing to run it as an input taxed event.

  Hi everyone, hope your all having a nice day. I'm sure were all counting down to Friday.

A question for all those GST whizzes. I am interested to see how other schools treat their fundraising activities.  Do you treat them all the same GST wise or do you look at each individual fundraiser and choose which way to go? And what is you reasoning behind the choice/s you have made. 

Would appreciate any feedback.
