[Busmanagers] SSO Agreement & School Year Model

Hi Everyone

I have 26 SSO staff and our consultative group is exam looking at the
School/calendar year situation. So far they are leaning towards
classifying each SSO role differently. I.e. office staff would be
Calender as they are needed for recall and integration will be School as
they are not needed and the agreement clearly states that they can only
perform duties that are undertaken as part of their normal duties and
that they need to be supervised. Our Lab Tech for instance, will most
likely become School Year as there are not duties in her own area but I
can not make her work in the office. I also have no one to supervise her
in her lab on the recall days if there was work for her to do. As most
are leaving staff as Calender can you give me some ideas how you are
dealing with the duties and supervision issue if you have these issues
or if these are not issues please tell me why as they may help too.

I will be grateful for any thoughts.

Regards

Marianne

Subject: [Busmanagers] SSO Agreement & School Year Model

Good Morning Everyone,

As you are aware I am working in town on the HRMS Upgrade Project and
the discussion of 48/52 versus the "School Year Model" for SSO"S in the
new agreement is being looked at for Leave purposes. I would appreciate
your feedback on whether your school is considering having their 48/52
SSO reverting to the School Year model as per the agreement or leaving
them as they are. As I am in town today and it would be great if you
could respond today.

Look forward to hearing from you.
