government contract.  Under that deal there is no such thing as a "free"
directory assistance.

A number of companies, when quoting new rates, quote line rental based
on a monthly rental rather than a quarterly rental as quoted by Telstra.


In regard to Directory Assistance - there is a free number 1223. Make
sure your staff use the correct number, the other number charges on a
timed basis and can get VERY expensive.

Is any one who has been changed over to Optus for land lines noticed
that bills are not any cheaper?   On investigations I have found that:

Line Rental's have doubled

Now being charged for Directory assistance (44 cents per call) (The
previously free service)

 

It was touted as saving us all heaps of money.  I haven't seen any
difference.  

Does anyone know who we email to voice our dissatisfaction.
