[Busmanagers] SSO relief staff

Hi Bev,

Good luck in you endeavours to find a BM for your school. 

That's correct - no one at all on EMR Term 3 SSO Relief List is
currently available to support any of the 254 schools in EMR.

The SSO relief staff situation is now critical.  

The response from 12 schools offering to host work experience for 9
trainees on CASES21 Administration this term is very encouraging.  

In Term 4 these staff will be able to offer admin assistant relief (BUT
they have no finance training).  

If there are any schools in EMR interested in being a host school for
work experience in Term 4 please send me an email.  

Think of it as free office assistance.

I have been trying my all this year to get approval from DE&T to run
more SSO Administration Training Programs BUT have not been successful.

Let's hope that the situation will improve ASAP and more trained relief
staff will be available.

Hi Donna,

I have just rang the Region looking for staff and they don't have anyone
available on their list.

I am looking for a Business Manager for 4 or 5 days per week for 4 weeks
from 22nd August up to the end of this term.  Does anyone know of a
person who would be available.  We are still only on CASES not CASES21.

I am one of those from a previous training program who is now working
full time. Maybe all the requests for relief staff that come through
this mailing list should also be sent to Region? Just a thought!

Hello Maria,

A few of the staff on the relief list do have experience in CASES21
accounts rec. - however non are currently available.

The problem is being exacerbated by the transitioning from CASES finance
to CASES 21 finance as funds have been provided to schools to offset the
cost of engaging replacement staff while resident staff are attending
training, however there are very few replacements available.

Evidently SMR are running two programs for 22 trainees in the next
school holidays with $2,000 support from the Region.   

I am at a loss to know why EMR (Whitehorse Network) SSO Training Program
hasn't received the support it deserves from EMR or Parkmore.

Effective programs were conducted in 2003 and 2004. Many of those
trained are now working full time and requests are continually received
for short term replacements which can't be filled.   

Any suggestions from any one out there ?
