Subject: Science and Mathematics Excellence Awards
Dear all
Please peruse the information below regarding the Science and
Mathematics Excellence Awards and encourage any teachers or schools you
know to be doing great work in this area to apply.
Note the applications close on Friday 28 May.
The awards are provided to further develop, consolidate or promote the
partnership between a school and industry. (The term 'industry' in this
instance incorporates business, tertiary education and research
organisations, community organisations and not-for-profit organisations.
An industry partnership refers to any partnership or agreement between a
school and organisation or body falling into this list.)
To date, there has not been a strong level of interest reported in these
awards - which we are sure does not reflect the excellent work of
Victorian educators! This seems like an excellent opportunity to
showcase the work of teachers and schools committed to improving
outcomes in Science and Mathematics education. It would be great to see
a strong response from each region with regard to nominations.
Thanks for your support!
Regards
Mel (for Cathy B)
