Agri-Food Industry Skills Council
National Training Package Review 2006
Feasibility Study into the
Merging of the Rural Production, Amenity Horticulture and
Conservation and Land Management Training Packages
Stakeholder Consultation Forum
To all Victorian Primary Industries Stakeholders,
As you are probably aware, the Agri-Food Industry Skills Council is
currently in the process of undertaking a review of a number of
National Training Packages in the Primary Industries. As part of
this review, a feasibility study into the rationalizing of three
Training Packages RTE03 (Rural Production), RTF03 (Amenity
Horticulture) and RTD02 (CLM) into a single package has been launched.
A series of consultations will take place in each state with the
Victorian Stakeholder Consultation meeting to be held on Monday 9th
October, 2006 at the Darebin Arts Centre in Preston, Victoria.
Stakeholder groups include (but are not limited to):
- Employers and employees
- Industry Organisations
- Employer and employee representative bodies
- Government departments
- Registered Training Organisations (public and private)
- Schools
- Trainers and assessors
Primary Skills Victoria has been asked to assist in the organising of
this event on behalf of the Agri-Food Industry Skills Council and
Training Package Review Consultant, Barbara Bishop, from the
Queensland Rural Industries Training Council who will be conducting
the forum.
We will be distributing this notice across a number of stakeholder
networks and would like to strongly encourage all persons who have an
interest in primary industries training in Victoria to attend. While
the sectors of agriculture, horticulture and conservation, land &
natural resource management are immediately affected by the outcomes
of this study, other sector stakeholders may find it useful to
observe the processes and issues which arise and the possible
implications for related sectors.
Also distributed with this letter is an event notice, agenda and
discussion paper/focus question document which is also available for
view on the AFISC Website www.agrifoodskills.net.au. Please feel
free to forward these documents on to anyone you think might also be
interested.
Details in summary:
