program attached

You are invited to this free community seminar, the second in a series of
three seminars being delivered by the Port Phillip and Westernport
Catchment Management Authority (PPWCMA) across the region to highlight the
current state of natural resources in our catchments.

This seminar is a unique opportunity to get an up-to-date picture of the
state of Western Port and major issues confronting the bay and its
catchment. The speakers will outline some of the latest information and
research. The seminar schedule (attached) includes opportunities for
one-to-one discussions and networking after the presentations.

Who should attend? All those with an interest in the health of the Western
Port region are invited to attend this seminar. This includes: local
community members, landholders, local government officers and councillors,
community groups, businesses, politicians, scientists, researchers,
students, government agencies, and non-government organisations.

Presentations: Will be from leading experts including the fields of water,
the bay and coasts, biodiversity, land use, and social demographics, who
will provide a snapshot of the current situation in their particular areas
of expertise. Investigative interviewing after each presentation, by
Hilary
Harper (774 ABC Radio), will draw out the salient issues. A plenary
"panel" session will provide an opportunity for questions to the
presenters.

This seminar is an opportunity for you to:
§ hear new information and research on catchment issues from experts;
§ improve your understanding of some of the major issues confronting
Western Port catchment;
§ see how your work contributes to catchment management and sits within
the 'bigger' picture;
