Susanna,
Attached is a copy of the project that I will be giving my middle school students. I have simplified it a bit.
We will apply soon to enter the competition.
DPI are working with us.

Subject: [Agriculture and Horticulture ] Lord of the Weeds competition
Dear all,
Make sure you are part of the $4700 in total prize money offered to the winning schools, register your school group into the Lord of the Weeds competition today.
'Lord of the Weeds' is a national secondary schools competition which has been developed with accompanying teacher resources. In the competition students write a report describing the most suitable management approach for a local weed infestation.
This competition is perfect for Victorian Agriculture and Horticulture students studying the weeds affecting production in agricultural/horticultural businesses.
Please go to www.weeds.crc.org.au/for_schools/competition.html for more details describing this competition and explaining how to register.
Last years winning report was from the Victorian school, Tintern Girls Grammar School. This was an exceptional report and story which not only won the Lord of the Weeds competition, but was a winner of the Victorian Weedbusters Educational award. This report can be viewed from the site above.
