charset="windows-1252"<br><br>A great PD opportunity is coming to rural and regional Victoria<br><br><br><br>Integrating ICT Pedagogy into School Communities Workshops<br><br><br><br>The Federal Government though DEEWR is funding professional <br>development opportunities for teachers in rural and regional <br>Australia. [These are not available in any capital city]<br><br><br><br>They are targeted at Primary and Post Primary teachers of Mathematics, <br>History, English and the Sciences who wish to integrate ICT more fully <br>into there teaching<br><br><br><br>As distance is always a consideration for teachers in rural and <br>regional schools, this project has a large online component. While <br>teachers are bought together for a one day workshop, the rest will <br>build on online support of the workshop convenors and the school teams <br>throughout Victoria [and Australia]<br><br><br><br>This program joins together school teams who wish to be supported in <br>action learning projects that will more fully integrate ICT into the <br>curriculum<br><br><br><br>Pre requisites, <br>..this program is for<br><br>1. Primary teachers and Post Primary teachers of Mathematics, <br>History, English and the Sciences<br><br>2. School teams of 2-5 teachers, [not necessarily from the same <br>faculty or learning team, although they can be!]<br><br>3. Teachers who would like the opportunity to improve the quality <br>of their curriculum design<br><br>4. Teachers who want to meet other like minded teachers<br><br><br><br>There are no pre-requisites of ICT skill levels, just and interest and <br>desire in integrating ICT into the curriculum<br><br><br><br>Integrating ICT Pedagogy into School Communities Workshops has three <br>phases<br><br><br><br>Phase One: Signing up to the project. Joining up with the workshop <br>online site and completing some pre workshop tasks [about 3 hours time <br>commitment between now and October 16th]<br><br><br><br>Phase Two: Participation in a workshop in which you can bring along a <br>curriculum project that you are working on and get input and online <br>resources to integrate ICT into it. This session will be lead by Hanan <br>Harrison [a noted educator from Queensland] and myself.<br><br><br>Phase Three: A chance to work on your project back at school, but also <br>have the support of the workshop presenters and other teachers <br>involved in this nation wide project<br><br><br><br>There is a choice of three Victorian workshops<br><br><br><br>A one day workshop is at Brauer Secondary College, Warrnambool on <br>Tuesday October 13th 2009<br><br><br><br>A one day workshop at Bairnsdale Secondary College on Thursday October <br>15th 2009<br><br><br><br>A one day workshop at Bendigo Senior Secondary College on Friday <br>October 16th 2009<br><br><br><br><br><br>Need any more information???
