I should have mentioned that we added Qcad to the Linux side of our dual boot setup so there was no reason us to compile a windows version (picked it up off the current Edubuntu distribution). I did notice that the Pro version is only $350 AUD for a site license covering any operating system, certainly a very reasonable offer for any school.

One of my students works through some lunchtimes with a Google Sketchup image he has made of a virtual home next to a skyscraper where you can zoom into a house, into a room, onto a couch, onto a TV remote, onto a button etc. He also enjoys tinkering at home with map editors for games. He made a while ago a map of Victoria for Age of Empires and we had some fun identifying where to locate the resources such as gold, stone water etc.

I'm just trying to download qcad for windows, but the qcad site only
has the community (open source) edition available as source code. Any
pointers to where a compiled version for windows is available?

Cheers,
