Open your purses. Tuppence is coming*...<br><br>It's not just desirable but essential that the unit 1 and 2 exams are separate because the units are non-sequential. That's why I ended up writing my own for the last study design.<br>
<br>Kids can start with unit 2 and we can't give them an end of year exam with unit 1 material in it because they will not have studied it!<br><br>Similarly, because unit 1 can be done without unit 2, you need a unit 1 exam for half-year.
We could not give an exam with units 1 and 2 and tell them to ignore a
bunch of unit 2 questions.<br>

exams particularly the Unit 1 / 2 exam. We have received many
requests for a separate Unit 1 exam.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">To explain why we have traditionally not produced a Unit 1
exam in the past, the timeline to produce the exam pack (that is
contact authors, explain timelines, draw up contracts, receive drafts, correct
drafts, contract proof readers and follow through the proofing process)
has been a long one. It is started fairly early in the year and takes
many months to complete. Usually this means that by the time the exams
are ready, Unit 1 exams are already over and done with making them
redundant. For this reason, we have focussed on the creation of a combined
Unit 1 / 2 paper that can be used at the end of the year.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">This year, our timeline for the Unit 1 / 2 exam ran early meaning
that many of you received it (or will receive it) in time to use for the Unit 1
exam period. However, as we have not produced a separate Unit 1 exam
this doesnt suit.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">However, we have received your requests and are in the
process of producing at least 1 Unit 1 exam and we will be able to send out to
all those that have purchased the exam pack shortly. The materials for
Unit 1 are being proofed as I write this and we are hoping to have them
ready in the next few days. </p>
