How much RAM (memory) do you have in your computers? I find that this is the main hurdle with video editing, it is so memory intensive that it's not funny anymore. : )

Elements is good, I've trialed a copy of it and what is interesting is that when an asset (image, video) is placed on the timeline, this is automatically resized to the screen size. I would still recommend you get one copy of Pro (this can run on a 1.6GHz, 512MB machine) so when students need to get challenged, they can experiment with the Pro version. It is also cheaper to get the Video Suite (Audition, Premiere, After Effects, and Encore) rather than just Premiere itself.

Hi All,

De La Salle will be offering MM Cert II for the first time next year. We have to get our budget allocation in by next week. I am considering whether to purchase Premiere Elements as part of the software suite. Even with an upgrade I don't think our PCs will run the full pro version. Would Elements be a suitable alternative for Cert II this year and for Cert III next year? Any thoughts or experiences welcome.

Paul Maxted
De La Salle

---
PLEASE NOTE: This Email and any attachments may be confidential and, if you are not the intended recipient, you must not disclose or use the information in this mail.
