Totally agreed, Yes it is not a good lot for IT Teachers at all these days.<br>
<br>
In my Office we keep a running tally of how many new items have been added to our workload over the last 5 years and we are currently up to 126 items. I still love teaching the students, but with classes of students all in the mid to high 20's and all the extra corrections and Admin driven "busy work" there is zero work life balance.<br>
<br>
Since my boys have all moved out of home, I have been saving up money and doing Crypto and Share Trading for the last couple of years in earnest, and I hope to be out of the game and semi retire early in the next couple of years. If the markets had not crashed, I would probably be happily gone already.<br>

Really sorry to lose you these lists are amazing but I understand why you are leaving things are different not sure how long I will survive now. So working on my Masters in Artificial Intelligence and then Phd.<br>
<br>
Hope you are ok yes it is becoming less popular and just about had enough of teaching with the behaviour of some students now and the increase in work load.<br>
<br>
Don’t blame people leaving I used to love teaching and was happy to have knocked back a double degree in electrical engineering but lately things have changed and workload has increased. There is no longer a life balance so I admit getting close to give it up as well.<br>

I know how useful to me these emails have been including the material shared, the peer review, the general camaraderie and the knowledge that I am not alone in the sea.<br>

Thanks also to everyone who has ever contributed - you are all part of the community. Sadly email is no longer trendy and so there are fewer regular contributors and in fact there are fewer teachers of these subjects<br>

It has been more than a year since I have even been in a classroom and I really cannot face going back to how classrooms are nowadays (not like the olden days in the mid 1980’s)<br>
